NICE TO MEET YOU

About Me

I am a designer fuelled by creativity and innovation, with expertise in both physical and digital product development. I thrive in dynamic teams, using design thinking to generate strong product visions from concept to market release.

My recent venture into technology at a pioneering startup in the beauty industry, has broadened my perspective and given me an appetite for new challenges.

My interests are diverse and forward-thinking, ranging from the intricacies of design and innovation, to the impacts of sustainability and social responsibility. I am also fascinated by the incorporation of play theory to create working atmospheres which nurture ideation. I believe a positive and playful environment generates engagement, inspiration, and creative thought, where I can exercise my strong communication skills to spark synergy within teams.

I am dedicated to continuous improvement, and to making a difference. I embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and am motivated to join a company where I can further evolve and diversify my skills in the long term.

Industrial Design + 3D ASSET GENERATION + MANAGEMENT

Atelier

Atelier is an ambitious startup based in Sydney which helps individuals and brands develop products in the beauty, health, and wellness sphere. The company had a lofty goal to develop their manufacturing platform, which aimed to digitally twin their product development process and supply chain. I was brought onboard to handle 3D assets, develop a pipeline to create, assemble, customise and visualise componentry on the web, and utilise data to enable customers to increase the speed of new product development.

Joining a startup saw me exposed to many different roles and technologies, which I enjoyed immensely. I was able to work across multiple teams and learn about new areas which would be beyond the scope of a traditional industrial design role including web graphics, graph databases, asset pipeline development and implementation. It was integral to understand other workflows to be able to design prototypes and implement product features.

My knowledge and expertise of materials and manufacturing was also relied upon to produce and deliver bespoke packaging and mouldings, working with manufacturers in China to deliver components aligned to production schedules. Alongside this, I was also able to diagnose faults in production runs, providing the team an understanding of the problems, and giving them confidence to resolve issues with the manufacturers and achieve positive resolutions.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Studio Henry Wilson

Joining Studio Henry Wilson as the first employee, I played a versatile role in supporting Henry's vision and business development. I was involved in all aspects of design, including prototyping, visualisation, tool design, and production management, all the way through to retail and wholesale distribution to prestigious design showrooms across the world.

Through close collaboration with foundry workers and manufacturers, I honed my skills in sand casting tool manufacturing, utilising additive manufacturing to bring this capability in-house. As the studio evolved, I also gained expertise in investment casting and stone carving. In tangible terms, my efforts here added 49 products to the offering in market.

Additionally, I spearheaded the expansion of a domestic furniture system to meet the demand for commercial workstations. Responsibilities included CAD detailing, coordinating manufacturers, and overseeing installations for projects of various scales.

Notable moments included working with Henry to exhibit prototype works at Salone Del Mobile which we then incorporated into our offering, and partnering with Aesop to create their first homeware product, an investment cast brass oil burner. This collaboration between Studio Henry Wilson and Aesop marked my introduction to investment casting and large-scale production, with the object continuing to sell out in stores today.
